Atene - il mito (e Nicole Loraux)

Ileana Chirassi Colombo

Abstract:

Ándres gàr pólis, as Thucidides says (7. 77. 7), men are the city. The epitáphios lógos, the funerary speech, lays the foundations of the patrís, the place of the fathers. Myth (mýthos), speaks of the génos gynaikôn, the race of the women, in the most excellent space, the political space, that is, the fatherland, Athens and democracy. On this long and constantly self-renewing, epistropháden, investigation Nicole Loraux has authored many useful suggestions.
