Lo stupore e le cose. Il dispiegarsi di un'emozione nell’epica greca arcaica

Abstract:

This paper examines passages of Homeric poetry that describe wonder. In showing the characteristics of the cultural representation of this emotion, we will focus on two points: first, the emotion arrives togheter with a cognitive crisis of man; second, the tales bring into play a series of thaumastic objects that are responsible for this emotion and that are identified as mediators between several periods (past, present, future) and dimensions (human and supernatural).
